The golden month

I can't believe it's October already. I'm so excited though as I love this time of year; the chill in the air, cosy jumpers and the beautiful Autumn colours.

I've already got things off to a great start with some visits to Harlestone Firs (if you can visit then definitely take a trip) to see the start of the leaves change, followed by a gentle stroll around Delapre Abbey with David, Nick and their beautiful furbabies.

I'm looking forward to a jam packed couple of months including some outdoor shoots this weekend, a special Halloween shoot, Oktoberfest at York House, Saf's kitchen pop up restaurant and two extra special bookings.

With this being a busy time of year for photographers, I just wanted to share some of my tips to help you get ready for your shoot.

1. Share ideas. I love hearing what my clients want to do and building on a relationship. It also helps to get ready for the shoot and make us feel relaxed. If there is anything you want to do (or not) then let us know; I love trying something new

2. Clothes is the most asked question before a shoot. When outdoors, it's best to wear something you feel relaxed in and to suit the weather. For Autumn I would suggest subtle colours to match the season; greens, browns, cream and dark denim. Boots- but not heels!

3. The first 10 minutes are the toughest while you get used to the camera (and me) there. I try and keep things informal while we walk around and find beautiful spots for your pictures.

4. Have fun! The shoot is all about you. If you're not enjoying it then feel free to say something. It's important to enjoy your time; a photography will last a lifetime and capture that moment

Pictures from these shoots always make a thoughtful gift at Christmas for loved ones. If you are interested then feel free to get in touch. The last few shoots are available at just £65 for an hour session. To book yours, contact
